Molly's Girls
(© 2010 Gregory Schroeder, Kyf Brewer)

Ginger had to call through the locked door
Molly's always opens half past two
Bonnie came with Heather down the alley
Who'd have thought they all was in cahoots?

Opening to Ginger's "what's your pleasure?"
A simple jar of amber please to fill
Heather says you lot will never measure
To the ones like him who pay for spills

Ginger got us drunk together
And in our stupor found each other
All the rum that came from Heather
Just made Bonnie's lies sound better

Ginger says "what do I owe the pleasure?"
And I'd be in me heaven with these three
Smitten by the free advice from Heather
Any topic save sobriety

Drunken offers came and went so lightly
The girls never so cruel
Drunken sailors shuffled down to Molly's
Dizzy seamen on her ship of fools

Ginger got us drunk together
And in our stupor paid the charter
All the gin that came from heather
Just made Bonnie's bum look better

Stranded in this bar
A lowly customer
If I could get just one of you, one of you

Ginger got us drunk together
Gave us hope for easy pleasure
All the gin that came from Heather
Just made Bonnie's bum look better

Ginger got us drunk together
Gave us hope for easy pleasure
Tipped our euros, tin and leather
Then we sang this all together
Till the sun did shine.
